Paintball markers are essential pieces of equipment for anyone interested in the game. Without your marker, you’ll just be a moving target! Paintball guns, commonly referred to as paintball markers, come in a wide variety of styles and sizes to allow players of all types to a marker that is right for them. In order to choose the best gun for your game, you’ll want to learn more about the different types of paintball markers:
- Automatic paintball markers. Automatic markers can shoot multiple paintball pellets with just one pull of the trigger. Many of these markers shoot 3 pellets at a time, but certain models can be changed to fire a different amount with each shot. These markers help you unload a large amount of paintballs in a pinch.
- Semi-automatic paintball markers. Players commonly use semi-automatic markers when out on the field. These markers require a trigger pull for each individual shot. Semi-automatic markers promote accuracy by helping players focus on shooting one pellet at a time.
- Pump paintball markers. Pump paintball markers require a little more physical exertion than the other styles. With each shot, the player must pump the gun in order to move the paintball into the chamber. While this style of gun is great for accuracy, it’s best used only when every other player uses a pump marker as well.
- Electronic paintball markers. Instead of relying on mechanical reactions to fire a pellet, these specialized markers contain a circuit board that electronically controls shots. Electronic paintball markers tend to have a faster response time than their non-electronic counterparts.
- Paintball pistols. These markers hold a magazine instead of the traditional hopper. Players typically rely on paintball pistols for back-up during play. Their small size is convenient for quick handheld action.
The best way to find the right marker for you is to get out there and play! At Giant Paintball, we provide the perfect atmosphere for non-stop paintball action. Teamwork is the most important element of any paintball game. If you’re working together, then you and your teammates will be able to move around the field and make the best shots. It’s important to communicate with your teammates throughout the game, so that you can share information regarding your opponents.
In this video, you’ll learn some great strategies for moving in the paintball zone. When hiding behind barricades, get as low to the ground as possible. In one-on-one situations, keep shooting to take the advantage. If you’re dealing with a moving target, then aim for where they’re going, not where they are.
Ready to try out some of these skills on the field? Here at Giant Paintball, you can practice shooting, ducking, diving, hiding, and more! Call us at (562) 239-2380.

Even though the airsoft gun manufacturer will give you a lot of information about your gun, it neglects to report some of the most useful information! It’s good to know more about what your airsoft is capable of, because some paintball fields and parks will not allow your gun to exceed certain limits.
With the Airsoft Helper app, you can enter your gun’s FPS (feet per second) and the weight of your ammo and see a variety of helpful information. The app will display your gun’s power rating, velocity in meters per second, effective shot distance, and average flight time. In other words, it tells you what your airsoft gun can really do. Download it for only 0.99 cents!
For an outstanding airsoft experience in the Los Angeles or Southern California area, come to the paintball fields and paintball parks by Giant Paintball.
